post season recap
my dear bases, a truly heroic end to our season. congratulations to annie, for paying her dues on the very last day, both in cash and with a smack to the kneecap. we had a free field, a boombox. we had a sombrero, and very little beer, but bases, i've never seen you throw down like you did last night, and i was oh so proud. everyone came out, and there was a wonderful guest appearance by last season's catcher of the year, bethany. it was an event only joel and his frat brothers could have dreamed up. our relatively unbeered game had little highlights when compared to the post-game bachanalia. we were matched by true opponents who may have beat us on the field, what with all their home runs and stuff, but we certainly held our own at my brother's place, which became an impromptu site for the 2005 beer olympics. their coach may have outdrank our coach, fine, but i took one for the team and soaked my hair with miller lite, and their big beefy guy did not conquer our zack, their smashley was nothing to our k-lo. we saw their tray of shots and upped their ante with a pitcher of morgan's and coke, ha ha! eventually, my brother's place turned into what my house was when my dad was out of town for a week in 1994. thankfully, i got out of there about 10 minutes shy of hanging out in the back alley with our scantily clad and terribly tatooed waitress, whatever she had in her pocket, justin and his japanese grandslam giving up left fielding friend.
alas, i'm sure the metro dc area will suffer a big loss of productivity today (though look at me, i was here at 9 am!), but that's a small price to pay considering that we made this town a better place for an entire softball season.
to all a wonderful four months, thanks to my ass and ass ass coaches for carrying on our traditional female triumvirate, and all who came out to play.
stay tuned for future games if yer interested, the bl pool party, maybe a nats game and the autumn glover park jules' rules beer tourney.
with a tear in my eye, and faithfully yours,
coach A
oh, and i know there are videos of me somewhere, i hope to quash them before i turn into some jude lawish tabloid spectacle.

team update!
yo! we are ranked 121st in the league!! click the rankings link on the left to see who's above and below us. what's good is that there are lots of team who suck more than us! yay!
tonight's game (6/22) is on the west siiide of the ellipse. look for the team with shirts with orange hands on them.
and our next game is MONDAY on our home field in Dupont (1625 P street NW). I've changed our opponents from the score hungry Potomac Fever (last year's champs) to the AHIPster who seem way cooler.
